WoW - Gear And Talents For Leveling Your Druid
Posted by Johann Wendleton in World Of Warcraft
Druids are one of the best classes in World of Warcraft because of the wide variety of roles this class can play. You can be a damage dealer, focusing on either melee or spell damage, you can tank for groups, or you can be a healer. Druids can cover literally every niche in WoW. While you are leveling however, it is best to focus on one particular path in order to maximize the rate at which you gain experience. Here are the basics of leveling a druid.
Talents
Since you have so many options as a druid, it can be tough to pick a talent spec for leveling. As you will mostly be doing quests by yourself to level, a damage oriented spec will be your best bet, so Feral and Balance are the obvious choices. Although Balance has very good DPS, Feral is able to sustain it for longer because it is not mana dependent. As such, I would suggest Feral for leveling. With a Feral build, you can also pick up a set of tank gear and tank instances in bear form. With that said, if you plan to group more than solo, you might want to go with a Balance spec, as mana dependency is not nearly as much of an issue in groups and you can also heal with a Balance spec.
Feral Gear
As a Feral druid, you will want to pick up 2 different sets of gear, one for cat form, and one for tanking instances in bear form. For the cat form gear, you will want to focus on strength, agility, attack power, and critical strike rating. These are the best stats for increasing the damage you deal. I’d suggest focusing on strength and attack power first as they add the most consistent damage, and then move on to agility and critical strike rating to boost up your big spike damage.
As a bear, you’ll want tank gear to best perform your role in groups. Your first choice should be stamina, but also try to pick up a decent amount of armor, defense, agility, and dodge rating to boost your absorption and avoidance and take less damage. If your gear has good armor, some stamina, and one or two of the other stats listed, you should be in good shape as a tank.
Balance Gear
Balance druids tend to focus on the same sort of gear as mages. You’ll be focusing on spell power as your primary stat, and a close second place is critical strike rating. Get some intelligence to expand your mana pool to a reasonable level so you don’t have to drink every fight, and pick up some mana regeneration if the opportunity presents itself.
With the info in this article, you’re now fully equipped to level your druid to 80. If you really want to fly through the levels, I would highly recommend checking out an in-game leveling guide by clicking through the link at the end of this article. I’ve done a review of what I consider to be the best druid leveling guide available, so if you’re interested in getting to level 80 faster and having more fun on the way, check it out.
