World of Warcraft players, with the release of the Burning Crusade expansion now have the World of Warcraft Jewelcrafting to create necklaces, rings, crowns and many other items that were previously only acquired from loot drops and quest rewards.

As in Diablo II you can socket items to enhance your armor. The Jewelcrafting profession is used to carve gems to fit into sockets. You can increase armor enhancements by adding jewels to sockets the enhancement level is based on the type of jewels used. Most usable gems come from jewelcrafting although some dangerous monsters drop usable gems.

Any character can add gems to a socketed item, this the only alteration allowed. You can’t add sockets, change or remove sockets from any item. Once you have your jewel from a jewelcrafter, shift-right-clicking the item you wish to place the jewel in then drop the jewel in the socket of the window that pops up. After you have placed the jewel just click the socket gems button and create the new item. If you are replacing a old jewel with a new jewel the old jewel will be completely destroyed.

Pairing jewelcrafting with mining is the best strategy. Metal ores are used to make ring and other jewelry by the jewelcrafters. The first things you will make will be copper rings but better items will become quickly available. Jewelcrafting kit can be bought foe 8 silver. The best way to drive up your skill level faster make an item from the resources available to you as many times as possible.

Once you reach level 20 you can learn Prospecting from the jewelcrafting trainer. This allows you to extract gems from ores you have mined. It will increase your chance of finding gems for jewelery.

As fast as possible you need to reach a score of 300. The space in your inventory and the materials that are available to you will control the path you take to reach a score of 300.
