The hunter is one of the best classes in World of Warcraft to level up quickly. Specializing your hunter talents in any of the three trees will help you level your character more quickly. As you get into raiding and top level player versus player, there isn’t as much freedom in your build.

Talents in the beast mastery tree improve the damage output of a Hunter’s pet, as well as its ability to survive. Even though all hunter specs are good for leveling, this tree is considered the best for leveling quickly. However, there are some downsides. Specifically, if anything happens to the hunter’s pet during a battle, he or she will find themselves without their biggest source of damage.

Most recently, Beast Mastery has been outpaced at raiding and player versus player by the other two talent trees, Marksmanship and Survivability. Even under ideal conditions and with ideal equipment, Beast Mastery just isn’t as effective, long-term, as it used to be.

All great talent builds take some points in Marksmanship, which boosts the damage and effectiveness of a Hunter’s ranged attacks. Lethal Shots, Mortal Shots, Careful Aim are usually maxed out, and at least one point is put into Go for the Throat. If a player chooses to specialize in Marksmanship, the talent tree is considered to be very powerful in raids and player versus player combat

Survival may not be a well-known specialization to level up your hunter, but in the late game, it’s considered amongst the best. Some talents are particularly nice utilities in raids, like replenishment, which restores some mana to the raid every time you critical. Explosive shot, likewise, is the most powerful talent in the Survival tree and the main goal of any specialization here.
