There are many occasions in WoW when you may need to level a character as fast as possible. Maybe you’ve already got a character or 2 at level 80 and you want to quickly get another one to that level, or perhaps you’ve convinced a friend or family member to start playing and they need to level their character quickly to catch up. Either way, moving quickly through the levels is the goal. This guide will give you a few pointers as to how you can power level more effectively.

Questing

Questing is one of the keys to power leveling. From early on in the game it’s a good idea to do as many quests as you can. I suggest filling you log book and questing as much as possible from day 1.

The key is to do them efficiently. I use an add-on that places a directional arrow on my screen. This add-on helps determine the most efficient way to run the quests that you have. You’ll find a link to a place you can get one of these at the bottom of this article.

Efficiency

The best way to level quickly is by being efficient. The way I suggest increasing your efficiency and better using your time is to kill your way to and from quests. This will make a big difference to your experience gained and you’ll move through the levels much faster without wasting time. You’ll also be able to make a good amount of gold by doing this as well.

Quest in Groups

If you don’t have a friend with a high level character to run instances with you, I suggest you forget about doing group quests. They can be very time consuming and you’ll often find yourself waiting for players to turn up. Group quests can be an effective high end tactic but they are sometimes time wasters at lower levels.

Quest Levels and Other Zones

Do not be in the mindset that you have to complete every quest in a zone before you can move on to another. In fact I encourage a bit of moving around. If the quests in one zone are getting a bit hard and you are dying quite a bit try moving to an adjacent zone that has some lower level quests. You can shoot through those and then come back for the harder ones when you have leveled a bit.

Rest and Relaxation

Whenever you log out or leave the game, do so in a capital city or an inn. By doing this you’ll get a boost of rested experience which will give you a massive boost when you return to play.
