To get rich in World of Warcraft you are going to have to be prepared to do some work. There’s no way around it, gold isn’t going to simply appear out of thin air.

If you want to earn a substantial amount of gold, you first need to be prepared to sacrifice some playing time in favour of some farming time.

Secret Number 1 - Mining

One of the easiest ways to make gold in World of Warcraft is though mining, in fact, it is probably the single biggest contributor to the WoW economy. You can start mining as soon as you reach level 5, if you want to get off to a cracking start I suggest you hit every node you can during the early stages of the game.

You can get a bar of gold for a stack of copper on most servers. While that might not be much for a high level player, a newbie will get great use from that. Mining produce is in hot demand by Blacksmiths, Engineers, and Jewelmakers. You’ll find high demand for mined metals on every server.

Secret Number 2 - Fishing

Many people forget about the fishing profession when they are focused on making gold. But if you take the time to get your fishing profession up to 375, you’ll find it’s worth it. Alchemists and Cooks both need fish for their trades.

Some of the more advanced recipes used by players in the Cooking profession require rare specimens of fish. You’ll find that many Cooks are too lazy to get the fish themselves however which means you can cash in if you’re willing to provide them.

Secret Number 3 - Herbalism

By collecting a few herbs you can make some easy money on every server. Herbs are always in high demand because they are needed by Alchemists to make flasks, potions and other liquids.

Mining, along with Herbalism and Fishing can be used very successfully to make decent amounts of gold. If you are starting out, Herbalism and Mining are ideal as you can start earning gold from as low as level 5.
