How to make gold is one of the biggest and best lessons you will need to learn if you are playing World of Warcraft. You do not want to pay a fee to walk around broke in a virtual world. Just as in the real world, you must know how to support yourself and be able to pay for the things you want to get.

If you have done much online besides click from page to page, you have probably heard of add-ons. Add-ons are usually small programs designed to make whatever you are doing on the computer a little bit easier. World of Warcraft also has add-ons. If you want to learn how to make gold, go and search out an add-on to help you in the Auction Houses.

Black Tabby farming is just one example of what you would need an alt character for on World of Warcraft, a good class for this activity is a level 21 Hunter because of its tracking skills. But leveling another character can be quite annoying especially if you already have your main character to focus on.

Thanks to the technique I got from Jonathan Kenins of Secret Warcraft, I learned by listening to his podcast that I can make leveling way easier for me by using twinked out white gear. White because it’s not soulbound unlike greens, purples, and blue items that are bind-on-pickup or bind-on-equip. That way, you can make use of them after you’re done on your alt character, you can lend them to your friends or guild mates, or even use them to level a new character.

Are you a big fan of pets in World of Warcraft? Did you know that not only are these pets cute and fun to collect, but they are also a good source of gold in WoW?

White Kittens are a good example, you can buy these from Lil Timmy for 60s each, he wanders around Stormwind selling these limited supply pet, so it can be quite difficult to obtain, but it’s certainly worth it because you can sell White Kittens for 100g to 250g on the alliance side, and up to 500g if you know how to do cross-faction trading and sell it on the horde side.

Another huge gold-maker is the Black Tabby. You can get Black Tabbys as a drop from the Dalaran Spellscribes in Silverpine Forest. These are level 21 mages which spawn every 4 hours.

Pets on World Of Warcraft are more useful than just a cute accessory for your character, they can also be a good source of gold if you play your cards right.

Take the White Kitten for example, you can buy White Kittens from Lil Timmy who wanders around Stormwind, for 60s each. These are limited supply items so they are quite difficult to obtain. Its worth it though, as you can sell the kittens for 100g to 250g on the alliance auction house, and up to 500g if you do cross-faction trading and sell it on the horde side.

Inventory space can be a real challenge on World of Warcraft You are only allowed a certain amount of inventory space, and as you level up you will eventually face the inevitable question of “to keep or not to keep?” A pack rat’s ultimate nightmare.

Jonathan Kenins of Secret Warcraft offers some useful techniques in dealing with inventory problems

The first thing you should do is to take advantage of the slots that are available to you…Bank slots, Bag slots, and character slots. You can create up to 5 characters on each server, so create a low level chracter and put them near their respective auction houses.

Take advantage of the bag slots, buy Netherweave bags which are 16-slot bags for 5g, 6g or 7g each, and equip your characters with them. So that’s instantly a lot of bag space between your characters already! You can also have a look at Traveller’s Backpack, buy them if they’re fairly cheap on your server because these are not soulbound so you can move them around.

You all understand I haven’t played much at all the last few weeks. I’ve been far too busy getting this blog and other ones going to play World of Warcraft. To be honest with you, once I got over the loss of routine and the guilt factor for ignoring my friends, I missed playing only a little. Could it be I’m getting over my addiction? I don’t think so. More likely it was time for one of my occasional vacations from World of Warcraft.

Which segues nicely into today’s topic. I want to chat some about the flip side of World of Warcraft addiction. To me, that would have to be World of Warcraft burn out. Yes, World of Warcraft burn out happens just as often as World of Warcraft addiction. Maybe even more so. It just isn’t making the sensational headlines.
